Benthos – The study of creatures that live at the bottom of the sea

This morning we continued our science by looking at animals from the Blackwater River. We used branching databases to work out what family the animals belonged to and what they were. We studied them closely and learnt about what they ate. Thank you to Mrs Richards from bringing them in for us.

Art club 

Recently in art club, we have been looking at cave paintings and the different sales and techniques they are done in. Yesterday, we actually created our own cave paintings using materials cavemen would have actually used.

Class assembly

Today we shared our learning in our Class assembly. Thank you to Mr Salmon and Miss Barber for all their hard work supporting us in our learning.

STEM club challenge

Direction Maze

This morning we practised our left, rights and turns. The children had to direct a team mate through a maze of cones using quarter turns and the correct direction, left or right.

A Super but Soggy Trip

We had a great morning in Tollesbury today. After walking to the lightship along the sea wall we left our equipment in one of the old boat sheds. Human and Physical Geography

In geography we studied maps and looked at man made (human) and natural (physical) features. We learnt new words like harbour and port. Then we made our own maps including the different features. Here are some of our maps.
