A Super but Soggy Trip

We had a great morning in Tollesbury today. After walking to the lightship along the sea wall we left our equipment in one of the old boat sheds.

First we used the area around the Saltmarsh to do some geography, a speaking activity and a team building game.

It was great to see the children getting more confident sharing their ideas in the team game and explaining their understanding of human and physical geography using the things around them.

After a break we split into two groups. One studied the local habitat and looked at how the local wildlife was adapted to survive in the salty marsh. The other group role played ideas for pirate tests we could use in our story writing.

After lunch we had a very wet walk back up to the bus stop (which is why the children came home in their PE kits) before returning to school where we wrote up some of our mornings work.

A big thank you to the adults who made today run so smoothly, regardless of the weather.
