DT – Sewing

Today we started our sewing project. We are making Christmas jumpers for the snowmen we designed last week.

Advent

Today we have been learning about advent. We made a class advent wreath and thought carefully about how we can help to make the world a more peaceful place.

Ip dip

In maths today we applied our sequence and multiplication skills to real situations. We used playground choosing rhymes like ip dip, to see if we could find a pattern to getting people out.  We discovered that the number of words in the rhyme was important. Tennis

This morning we had a tennis taster session. It was great fun. We learnt lots of different skills to help us mov  our feet, watch the ball and find space.

Sequences

We continued our sequence work today. We used the 100 squares to help us spot the patterns, which we found easier than yesterday’s  multilink. Can you see the pattern? What do you think the next number will be?

Punctuatiom

Today we have been playing with different punctuation. Some of us were using Kung fu to remember where our full stops and capitals go. The rest of us were practising using speech marks in sentences. We will be using these skills in our story writing next week.

Missing Number Problems

We have been using number triangles and are now confident with them. Today we solved missing number problems with them. To start with we struggled to go the correct way around the triangle, to get the missing number, but by the end we had cracked it.

PE – Pike and Straddle

In PE we practised pike and straddle balances. We started with a partner making different letters before using the apparatus to practise the moves in our own.
