### Shopkeepers

We got the money out to practise being shop keepers ready for the Chrostmas Bazaar.  Don’t forget to visit our stall in class 2 later on today.

### Measuring Maths

We made our own reindeer food to practise how to measure.  We used the scales to measure out exact amounts.

### Light experiment

Today we were learning to make predictions in Science. We talked abut light and what we already know before carrying out our experiment. We noticed that a picture of an arrow appears to flip over when we look at at through water! We talked about how this occurs as the light refracts.

### Clay

Today we were able to get out the clay out and start making our clay owls. We practised using the clay to make different shapes. We then started to make the clay owls themselves. Some of us found it hard to add detail without cutting all the way through the clay, or that the clay… Read more »

### Making 10

Today we investigated different ways of making 10 using the numicon and balance scales. We are now learning to say our number bonds really quickly e..g 4+6=10 7+3=10 or 10-5 =5. Please help us to practice at home.

### Fractions

We have been learning about fractions. We used multi links to make and compare fractions. We noticed that 1/2 is the same as 2/4. We also found out that 1/2 is bigger than 1/3. We then found out that 1/2 is the same as 0.5!

### PE – Tag Rugby

Today in tag ruby we worked on attacking and defending. Coach Jack taught us a game where we had to try and get the rugby ball from the opponents half before getting tagged. This was especially hard because the other team was doing the same thing at he same time!

### Repeated subtraction

Today we practised another way to share using subtraction. We used a number line to count back in the number we were sharing. We found the number of jumps we did was the answer to the problem. This is 45 shared by 5. There are 9 yellow rods (these are worth 5) so 9 is… Read more »

### Science – Light

Today we performed an experiment looking at light. We made spectroscopes help us see what light is made up from. We then looked at how light is made up of different colours that combine to a ‘white’ light that we notice around us. Finally we wrote a recount of what we did and reported on… Read more »

### Reasoning

Today we continued sharing. We used chocolate to focus our minds 🙂 . In the problem we had chocolate laid out on each table. On one there were 12 pieces, another 6 and the last 3. We could choose to stand by a table and share out the chocolate on that table. The first time… Read more »
