In our writing we have been focusing on extending our sentences and varying our openers. We can make them longer by using connectives, prepositions and clauses. Makers

After designing our drawbridges and making a pneumatic monster mouth we started to make our designs. Here are some pictures of them in action. While building we kept a record of any changes we made.    Finally we evaluated our design against the original criteria. 

Castle Trip

Nifty Pneumatics

Next week we will be looking in detail at pneumatics. We will be designing and making devices that pump air. Today we learnt about how they work, pushing and pulling the syringes and observing the effect. Finally we experimented with hydraulics, we filled our pneumatic system with water.

Scorching Sports

Today we went to Colchester to take part in the consortium sports event. We competed against 22 other schools in track and field events. Fielding

Battle of Maldon

Today we re-enacted the battle of Maldon, between Olaf the Viking and Byrhtnoth the Saxon, which we then wrote up as a report. We will we editing and improving this work using different report writing skills.

Trinity service

Today the whole school went to church to learn about Trinity. Each class planned a presentation to help us to think about God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
