Class One Cafe

This afternoon we were using our windows for a drive through cafe! The children enjoyed serving all sorts of different ice creams and yummy foods. The children were deciding on different prices, some being very expensive!

Coding

Year one enjoyed Minecraft coding this afternoon, it was great fun.

Today, we had the pleasure of watching the Key Stage 2 performance of Oliver! Well done to all the children and staff for all their hard work – it was awesome!

Colchester Castle

Recently, Year 3 & 4 had a wonderful trip to Colchester Castle. We learned all about the Celts and Romans, and Boudicca’s invasion of Colchester. Did you know that there is still a layer of ash underneath Colchester left over from the Iceni invasion that you can find if you dig down today?

Please can your child find 5 different leaves either a tree or bush, different in shape and texture. Can they then write 3 adjectives about the leaves but please avoid green. I’m looking for adjectives regarding shape, texture or feel. This is to be completed by Monday. Mrs Whybrow

Volcano alert

Class one wanted to make an erupting volcano today. We used papier mache to creat the volcano and then learnt the science behind the chemical reaction that cause the eruption.

Hanging about in a tree

This afternoon, some of the children made a swing for their bear. We experimented with sticks as a seat but it was not strong enough. Look at the bears having fun.

Thriftwood Residential Trip

Class 4 has had a wonderful residential stay at Thriftwood Scout Camp in Brentwood and there are a few pictures here and more to come of the activities. We all tried our hands at climbing, archery, pedal cars, orienteering, demolition, the assault course, water rolling, cata-splat, a cave bus, the Cresta Run and axe throwing!
