Class 4’s Sharing Assembly

Class 4 presented our first sharing assembly of the year showing their learning from our visit to St Peter’s Church and beachcombing at Goldhanger. We had a fantastic turnout of adults who came and had a good look around the classroom afterwards. Mr Hopegood 🙂

Creating Our Planet

Today in Class 2, we had an ‘out of this world’ lesson in which we created our own planet Earth using balloons and paper mache. The children loved the messy process – trying to attach newspaper to the balloon using glue/water. We cannot wait to see what they look like when they’re dry and painted.

A Pirate’s Treasure!

Class 4 has handed in lots of really brilliant and imaginative Creative Homework! Look at this lot below and we’ve still got more than two weeks to go…

Sorting our beachcombing finds.

Class 4 spent the afternoon cleaning and then beginning to organise the spoils of our beachcombing visit to Goldhanger yesterday. There’s a definite whiff of the seaside after our work but I think you’ll agree that it all looks great! Mr Hopegood 🙂

iRock

Rory came to visit us in school today from iRock. The children had a wonderful time singing together and forming a band! The children will be brining home letters today for you to sign them up for lessons at school. They are so excited to form their own bands.

Beachcombing at Goldhanger.

Listening ears on full

Class one explored environmental sounds today as part of a phonics session. We played a game on the whiteboard initially and then went onto the field to use our listening ears. We heard birds, planes, a helicopter, children talking and laughing, twigs snapping, leaves rustling AND the most popular sound…a tractor.

Moondust monster fun

Class one explored our sensory moondust today. They found number monsters hiding and then matched them to the correct Numicon tile. later in the day, we explored how the moondust felt on our skin and made it rain on us. Making Number Bonds

Today in Class 2, we created number bonds to ten using our Numicon. We found it very interesting discovering how many different ways be can create the number ten.

Painting Jack and the Beanstalk
