Today we explored objects of different materials – wood, metal, paper, elastic, fabric – and described their properties. We identified if the materials were hard, soft, smooth, durable and discussed what objects the materials are used for. We discussed why some materials are more suited to certain jobs than others – for example using fabric for our clothes is a much better (and comfier!) idea than using metal. We then recalled our previous learning on the properties of water and compared the materials to water. What an interactive lesson!
