Half Term Homework

Apologies for the delay. We have had some problems with the website over the weekend.

Below is the writing homework for this half term, please have it ready before the end of the second week back. I have also set maths homework on mymaths. I have chosen homework that doesn’t require Flash Player so it should be accessible from any device.

 

Summer Half Term Homework – Writing

 

For our last half term we will be zooming forward through time. Choose at least one of these activities to get you ready for it.

 

  1. Design a local historical character and write about them. I would like to know what time they are from (Stone Age to the present), what their job is, where they live and a little about their family. This could be in the form of a model, picture, family tree or anything else you can imagine.

  1. We will be writing a weekly newspaper next half term. Can you become a reporter and write a recount of an event (real or imaginary) that happens close to our school? Don’t forget to use the 5Ws (who, what, where, when, why).

 

  1. Before the invention of computers, many historical eras used codes to transfer secret messages. These included messages where pictures represent words or letters, or alphabet cyphers where each letter is replaced by another letter or number. See if you can come up with your own short message for your friends to try and decypher.
