Hopscotch Phonics

Morning all,

We have been working really hard on our Phonics daily and trying to make it easy to do, fun as well as practical. Our latest activity is nice and simple – all you need is your sounding out skills and chalk!

The rules:

Single sound is a single jump.

Digraph is a simple, short slide.

Trigraph is stretch and slide.

Split digraph is a jump over and step back (for the sound found in the middle).

Have a look at our examples below…

Well done to my two glamourous assistants for showing us but please feel free to practise this at home.

Mrs Archer.
