Uniform
Here at D'Arcy Academy, pupils are expected to wear their uniform with pride, be smart at all times and remember that they are ambassadors for the school. Parent/carers are expected to support their child to be fully equipped and prepared for their learning each day. Please don’t put your child in a compromising position by ignoring the dress code.
Every pupil should have an art apron/shirt, PE kit, a clear water bottle and pencil case with them every day.
Our school dress code is:
white shirt or polo-shirt
red school sweatshirt or red jumper/cardigan (no hoodies)
grey skirt/pinafore/trousers (no leggings, jeans or cycling shorts permitted)
black plain shoes (trainers and high heels are not permitted)
tights or socks; grey, black, red or white
House PE kit (red (D'Arcy), blue (Blackwater), green (Alligham), yellow (Salter) with black shorts. The school office will advise you which house your child is a member of. Plimsoles or trainers. (PE kit is to be kept in school during term time in a draw-string bag)
For outdoor winter games a tracksuit is recommended
Please ensure that all items, including shoes, are clearly labeled with your child's name at all times.
Watches, small stud earrings or religious items required by the child’s faith may be worn. No other items of jewellery are allowed.
Pupils are not permitted to wear any make-up.
For Health and Safety reasons pupils must not wear any earrings for any sporting or PE activity in school and will be expected to remove them before taking part. It is therefore advisable to not have your child's ears pierced during the school term, and instead have this done at the beginning of the 6 week break to avoid them being removed before the recommended time. Children that cannot remove their earrings independently to take part in activities should have them removed by a parent / carer before they come to school. (In accordance with Essex County Council guideline's, earrings can no longer be taped- they must be removed.)

There are no minimum order quantities and your uniform will be delivered directly to your home address. Other ordering information including sizes, delivery information and the returns procedure is also available online using the link below. Items of non logo-ed uniform is also available from School Trends as well as many other retailers.
Items of non-loged school uniform are also available to purchase from many High Street and online retailers.
