Spanish

Developing beliefs and aspirations within a strong community.

Jesus said “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”

Matthew 19:14

Believe, Belong, Achieve

How does MFL inspire pupils and develop their aspirations? How does MFL develop their individual beliefs and ideas? How does MFL develop the pupils individually and as part of a community? How does MFL enable the pupils to learn, understand and apply their knowledge?

Intent, Implementation and Impact

At Tolleshunt D’Arcy Primary Academy, we value Modern Foreign Languages as an important part of the children’s entitlement to a broad and balanced curriculum. We have decided to teach Spanish to suit the options the children will have at their forthcoming Secondary Education. Many of our children will use Spanish throughout their time at Tolleshunt D’Arcy Academy, as this is a popular holiday destination for our demographic. It has inspired the children to learn as they have a real purpose.

The children will be able to understand and respond to authentic sources, speaking with greater accuracy and confidence as they progress through KS2.We endeavour that children will be writing at length for a varied purpose and increasingly become fluent with grammatical structures. Children at Tolleshunt D’Arcy Primary Academy will experience the culture that resides outside of the classroom.
