Tolleshunt D’Arcy Remembers

Today a group of children displayed our poppies around the Maypole and built a wall of remembrance in our school library. Thank you to John from the council for supporting this project and to all the staff and children for their hard work and enthusiasm.

Thank you Class 2 for your poppies helping us to mark 100 years since the end of WWI.

Harvest festival

Today we went to church to celebrate Harvest. Thank you everyone for your hard work and support. Keep the donations coming – Maldon food bank will be collecting our collection on Thursday.

Firework safety

Today, Kate from Essex Fire and Police came to visit us in assembly. We thought about how to keep ourselves safe around fireworks. Thank you Kate for helping us to keep safe.

Supporting charities

Today we had a visitor in assembly from Little Havens who spoke to us about the work that they do to support children and their families. Tommy WWI

Today John came to talk to us and introduce TommyWWI. This year we are marking 100 years since the end of World War I. As part of our learning about our responsibility  within the community to remember the soldiers, we will be making poppies to decorate the maypole with.

Trinity service

Today the whole school went to church to learn about Trinity. Each class planned a presentation to help us to think about God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Altar cloths

Thank you Mrs Towers for our new altar cloths which you kindly made and donated to the school. We shall look forward to moving through the year and dressing the altar with the different colours in line with the church seasons.

Prayer Spaces

Today the Christian Youth Outreach team set up prayer spaces in the library. We thoroughly enjoyed sharing the activities and reflecting by saying please, sorry and thank you for different aspects of our lives. Here are some of the pictures from the day!

Jonah and the Whale

The Holy Council led collective worship following the theme of our Christian value – Courage. The team planned and led a puppet show about Jonah and the Whale.
