The water cycle

Today, in class 3 we finished off our learning on the water cycle. We have made our very own water cycle in a bag to test this theory for ourselves. Hopefully, we should start to see results in the next few days.

Hopscotch spellings

Today, we linked our new spellings and practising those with hopscotch. We worked in groups where someone shouted for us to ‘stop’, we read the word aloud for all to hear and then we sounded out the word. This was a nice and fun activity to do this morning. Class 3 team.

English: Identifying features of a newspaper article.

Today, we looked at a newspaper article and labelled its features. Miss Jenkins and Mr Lines set different challenges for the year 3 and 4s, such as highlight direct speech, highlight an adverbial phrase or to write a rhetorical question that could have been included in the text. Here is an example of our labelling.

Lent

Today we continued on our journey through Lent by reflecting on being Friendly and Truthful. We found examples from the Bible of Jesus being friendly to others as well as stories he told. We thought about what a good friend is and what we can say or do to be friendly towards others.

STEMtacular fair

What a wonderful finale to our STEM week! It was lovely to see so many parents and families attend to see the children’s work.

Reading Event

This afternoon, we enjoyed reading to our loved ones. Thank you for sharing World Book Day with us in school!

Hungry bookmarks

For world book day, we decided to get our arts and crafts fingers on the go and make some very hungry bookmarks. We use our origami skills and folded up a ravenous treat! English: the 5 senses

Science: electricity and circuits

We have carried out some very exciting learning this week in Class 3, on electricity and circuits!In science, we investigated the different components needed to make an electrical circuit and learnt about the scientific symbols used for these too.
