World Book Day 2023

Today at D’Arcy School it’s World Book Day. This meant that lots of us came to school dressed as our favourite story characters. We all looked absolutely amazing!

Truthful

Storytelling

On Wednesday, we were visited by Simon, a storyteller who regaled us with stories. Our children listened fantastically and learned a lot. Some of us even impressed him with our own storytelling! It was a fantastic day and we look forward to doing more of the same in the future.

RE – Light

We had a lovely afternoon this afternoon discussing what light means in different religions. We thought about what light reminded us of and made our own lanterns with our thoughts around the outside. We were very pleased with the results.

10 Commandments

Today we turned our attention to our Christian Value: Truthful. We learnt about Moses and the 10 Commandments from the book of Exodus. I was very impressed with the children’s understanding of being Truthful and different versions of the truth from different peoples perspective!

Class 1 & 2 sharing

Yesterday, Class 2 came down to Class 1 and shared with us their amazing stories that they have written. Class1 loved listening to all their different stories.
