Borrowbox

Good afternoon!

We had a visit from Hayley from Maldon library today who kindly took us through how to use Borrowbox to borrow e-books and audio books from Essex libraries.

For those children who provided details to get a library card, we have logged them in and had a look at what’s available.

There are a couple of things it would be useful for you, as parents, to know.

  • You should receive an e-mail when your child borrows a book. It is important monitor this. This will be through the email you provided on the form you completed.
  • As the Borrowbox app gives access to the full library catalogue, it is important to direct children toward the children’s section so they can borrow appropriate books.
  • Make sure that books are returned. There is a limit of 7 books at any one time. If this limit is reached, you must return books before you can borrow new ones.
  • There are never any charges for books, nor any late charges. Books will simply automatically be returned after a certain amount of time. You should get a warning when this time is nearly up.

This is a great opportunity for the children to have access to a plethora of books. Thank you to Maldon library service for helping us to set it up.

Take care,

Mr Este
