Catching Up on the Week and Homework

We’ve had a great week this week. We have continued with our work on David Walliams novels, focusing this week on speech use. In maths, we have started to work on money – beginning with mental addition and subtraction of totals. Outside of these, we have started to work on our topic on plants; beginning to look at climate zones and how plants adapt to different climates.

The style of homework has changed to help make it more fluid and manageable. Your child will have a green card with activities to complete at home. Please sign under each activity when they have been completed. When the card has been completed and signed, it then needs to be brought in to be stamped as completed so the children can earn house points/ reward time.

The English game will need counters/ dice play. Make your way round the board and complete the tasks you land on. You get 5 points for each correct answer. If you pick up a correction card, you need to correct the sentence; if you pick up an invention card, you need to come up with a sentence using the features on the card. The cards are worth 10 points.

We’ll play the game on Monday in class so the children have a good idea of how it’s played.

Have a great weekend. Enjoy the sunshine!
