Today in science we looked at floating. We had to decide from a range of materials which ones would float. After testing them, we had to explain why we thought they floated. We had lots of different ideas about why things floated, like size and shape, but we were surprised when some big things floated and some small things sank.
We then came up with our own ‘I wonder what would happen if…’ question to test using the materials. We tried things like finding bigger examples of things that floated or putting holes in the things that floated to see what happened. We recorded our results to see if our predictions were correct.
