Today in Maths we looked at what number 5 is. The children learnt that it can be made in many ways.

Rama and Sita

This week we have been learning about the Hindu festival of Diwali. Class one have learnt the story of the God Rama and his beautiful wife Sita. We then looked at some Hindu objects. Tomorrow we are making mud Diyas.

Our Trip To The Church

Today Class 1 walked to the church in D’Arcy. We all squeezed into the chapel and listened to Linda and Rev. Andy talk about the church and what happens in it. Listening ears on full

Class one explored environmental sounds today as part of a phonics session. We played a game on the whiteboard initially and then went onto the field to use our listening ears. We heard birds, planes, a helicopter, children talking and laughing, twigs snapping, leaves rustling AND the most popular sound…a tractor.

Moondust monster fun

Class one explored our sensory moondust today. They found number monsters hiding and then matched them to the correct Numicon tile. later in the day, we explored how the moondust felt on our skin and made it rain on us. Pizza!

Last week class 1 voted to make a pizza. Today they all put their aprons on and made some yummy cheese and tomato pizza. We hope you enjoy them!

Germ fun!

Today class 1 learnt all about germs and how they spread. We used glitter to represent the germs on our hands and how quickly it spreads. We then washed our hands to wash the glitter off to show how germs can be removed.
