Listening skills

Today, class one played a listening and instruction game. The children took turns to place food on the bear or elephant. It was good to see some team work and fabulous listening and attention.

Habitats

In Understanding the World this week, we have been looking at habitats and what animals need to survive. The children worked well with Mr Fox on a sorting activity and today we completed our quiz on the topic.

Repeating pattern challenge

Class one were challenged to make complex repeating patterns today using the bears. Some of the children used our movement repeating pattern to help them and represent Meatball, Apple, Apple, Grape with the bears.

Animal facts

Today in Class one, we have been learning about types of animals and habitats. We learnt some of our ‘rocket words’ such as farm, ocean, desert, pet and habitat. STEMtacular fair

What a wonderful finale to our STEM week! It was lovely to see so many parents and families attend to see the children’s work.

Phonics champs

Today was tricky word Friday and the children challenged Miss Reed and Miss Warden to a spelling bee. The children was so excited that the beat them!

Outdoor fun

This afternoon, we have been focusing on imaginary play. We have built a zoo in the sandpit, a Minecraft house with the large equipment and also cooked worm soup.

Lent

This week we have been learning about Lent. Yesterday, we all promised to do good deeds rather than give something up for Lent and then ate pancakes. today, we learnt that some people have a cross drawn on their forehead with ash left form last years Palm leaf crosses.

Lego engineers!

Class one were so lucky this afternoon as we were able to learn how to control and build a robot. We used code to make algorithms and used Bluetooth technology to communicate with the robot. All about the pulse!

Today in Class one we explored the pulse of a song. We found that it is constant and never changes. The children also talked about different instruments which include our hands and voices. Obviously, we had to have a groovy dance afterwards,
