Year one had a fantastic PE lesson today. They were brave and used the high horse, jumping and landing safely. We then incorporated a pike into our landing.
Where is the wind?
Today, class one took the wind socks they created out into the big playground. They enjoyed discovering the direction of the wind. The children then decided to hang them and watch how they moved.
Funny phonics
Year one were a little cheeky today during phonics. We wrote on the table 😬 It was good fun although we do know we can only do this with an adult.
Seasons seasons
This week, Class one are going to be taking a creative approach to our learning about seasons. Today, we looked at the four seasons and created mood boards to represent how we see Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The children then talked about their choices.
Children in Need
On Friday, we came to school in our PJ’s or dressed as a key worker in order to raise money for Children in Need. We had many activities based around children in Need including decorating a Pudsey T-Shirt with our colourful handprints to show our support.
The Story Of Rama And Sita
Yesterday, Class 2 learnt of the story of Rama and Sita. We then decided to act out the very famous story. We learnt about this story, as it is one of the main parts of the Festival of Diwali, which is coming up soon.
P.E- Working on our balance and coordination .
We have started on our gymnastics skills, specifically looking at coordination and balance. We used the apparatus to travel and make shapes. Everyone did very well and we even spoke about the link to yoga and ur bodies making shapes too. Mrs Archer and Mr Fox
A whole new world – Science
Yesterday, we did some great learning on our new topic, A whole new world. We focused on the science part, looking at animals and their ‘habitats’. There was lots of discussion about where and how animals lived and we did some role play as well . Lovely afternoon for all.
A Hoy!!
Today we decided to turn our sand pit into a pirate ship. We made a plank the Pirates had to walk across, a sail and a front and back deck. We had some very scary Pirates!!
Tremendous Tintin Topic Work
We started our new topic work this morning by looking at colour mixing and trying our best to match the colours used in the Tintin comics. Spectacular results all round!
