Medieval Dance

Because lots of our fantasy stories are set in medieval times, today we started learning some medieval dances. After learning some simple steps, we started with some circle dances before moving in to a line dance. We found the steps easy to do, but much harder to do them all in time with the beat!

We have become very accomplished in our repertoire and are now working on swapping between our C and F chords.

Maths – Missing Numbers

This week we have looked at missing numbers. We have used balance scales to picture how to solve them. When there has been an unknown number we have added more to the highest side until the sides balanced again. This can work for adding and taking away. Rocket man🎶

Today we have been painting some rockets for our moveable rocket men!

Crystals in class!

Our salt solutions have begun to produce crystals! We have been exploring the differences in crystal formation between solutions of varying saturation. So far, we have noticed our most saturated solution has yielded more crystals!

Trip the Light Fantastic

This morning, we began exploring our new science topic; light! We examined why we could see colours in CDs and bubbles, why colours vanish at speed and how we can make a ray of light travel further. We looked at shadows and how they change. Can you spot shadows at home?
