Since the sun has been shining lots today, we have spent most of our time outdoors. The children love all the activities and we have seen super learning to support all areas of the Early Years framework. 

Today, we had lots of fun and adventures in our outside area. We played with sand, gee our own plants and had imaginary high speed chases on our bikes.

Today we did our number of the day which was seven. We also spoke about whether the number seven is odd or even.

This afternoon we looked at Volume of cubes and cuboids. Some of us used multi-link to help with the calculations.

I have set the weekly mymaths homework around mental maths. As an extra challenge I am adding a picture of the maths we did on Friday. In the picture the shape represents a missing number, for each number sentence the shape means the same number. Can you work out what number each shape is?

To continue our fantasy topic, we have been learning the story of George and the Dragon. We have been practising description using figurative language. Today we used this to write a poem version of the story.

Next week we are visiting Tiptree library to finish off our book week. Hopefully you have received an email consent form with more details about the trip itself. Thank you for everyone who took part in the parent-child reading session, It was a blast! Thank you for those who donated cakes! Everyone looked so fantastic in their costumes. The winners of the best costume in each class will be announced on Monday.

Class One would like to thank Coach Marley for teaching us some superb team games in PE. We will definitely be playing them again. 

Well done Class 1 for sharing your learning in your first sharing assembly. We loved all your singing and learnt lots of facts about space, shapes and much more! Thank you for making us smile.
