Uncovering the past

Today we had some very interesting people come into class 3: archaeologists. We did lots of really fun things such as cleaning some really old roman pots and some ancient poo (don’t worry; it was only pretend!)

Volcano!

This afternoon we looked at how a volcano is formed through tectonic plate movement and magma. After working on this, we used vinegar and bicarbonate of soda to create a volcano of our own. Beanbag skills

In PE today, we have been learning to throw and catch a beanbag. The children worked in teams to throw a beanbag into a hoop, then paired up to throw and catch.

Punctuatiom

Today we have been playing with different punctuation. Some of us were using Kung fu to remember where our full stops and capitals go. The rest of us were practising using speech marks in sentences. We will be using these skills in our story writing next week.

Fantastic cinema!

Yesterday, class one made a cinema in the classroom. We enjoyed creating tickets for everyone to get into the movie and then gave out ‘popcorn” as a snack. The children have scheduled the next movie in their diary. What film will it be next?

Mrs Richards Superb Science

Today, Mrs Richards had delivered another brilliant science lesson in which we learnt about rocks and soils. We learnt about the three types of soils and the differences between them. We conducted many experiments with them such as feeling all the types of soil and doing drip tests.
