Class 2 News

As part of our report writing, each morning we have been writing mini reports of things that have happened over the week. Below are the first editions of a newspaper made from our reports.

Father’s Day Lunch

Today we enjoyed a special Father’s Day lunch and play! Thank you Maxine for all your hard work and to the Dads and Grandads for joining us!

ATHLETICS

On Wednesday, class 1 participated in some athletic activities including high jump, long jump and hurdles. We had so much fun learning all the different techniques in order to do the activities properly.

Info-sorting

Today we sorted some Guinea pig information into five different categories; food, water, behaviour, where they live and handling them. We were really good at remembering what we should do to look after our Guinea pigs.

Class 1 vs Guinea pigs

Today some of the children in class one had some one-on-one time with the two Guinea pigs: Lucy and Ginger. The children were very well behaved when approached by the Guinea pigs and had lots if fun socialising with them.

Bikeability

Today some children from Class 3 started their cycling lessons. Good luck to all the pupils and we hope you enjoy the lessons. We will be looking to run further sessions in the next academic year.

Shared reading

Yesterday class 1 and class 3 joined forces to do some shared reading together.

Battle of Maldon

Today we re-enacted the battle of Maldon, between Olaf the Viking and Byrhtnoth the Saxon, which we then wrote up as a report. We will we editing and improving this work using different report writing skills.

Trinity service

Today the whole school went to church to learn about Trinity. Each class planned a presentation to help us to think about God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. PSHE – First Aid

Later on in history  we will be looking at medicine through the ages. Today we learnt some basic first aid that we could use to help someone now. If someone’s arm was hurt we could use this triangular bandage to support it so that it wouldn’t get any worse.
